Using Olive Oil To Treat Acne

Introduction And Background

Treating acne can be a hard job. There are so many things you have to choose from and they all look good to you. All the acne treating products can be from great companies, can have great reviews and also seem to be the best possible choice for your own acne problems. But there is one thing you overlook in the entire scenario. Are company manufactured products really what you want to treat your acne? Have you ever tried the natural way of things, using something right in your own home to fix your skin problems? If you haven’t, now is the time to start and I will tell you why so.

The Natural Treatment
If you can cure your acne without using any chemicals or any products, why shouldn’t you do it? The natural treatment is sometimes the best treatment because you are using something that has no side effects and you know cannot harm you in any way. With chemicals, there is always the danger of them not working, of having side effects or of having an allergic reaction to some ingredient in them. Try out the natural way of things and see where it leads you. You won’t be disappointed.

The Benefits Of Olive Oil For The Skin
When I say the word ‘Olive Oil’, something healthy automatically comes to the mind. But not something related to the skin. You will all probably worry why I am telling you to put oil on your already oil face. We know olive oil is really good for the health and that most people have it to cure their blood pressure or heart problems. Most of the doctors recommend it as the best cooking oil and it also prevents you from having high cholesterol levels. Now, these benefits are the benefits for the health. For the skin, olive oil is no different. Externally used or internally used, it is great! Olive oil boosts the immune system and lessens the inflammation that is brought about by the acne. It also has an anti-bacterial and anti-fungal effect. Olive oil quickens the healing of the skin and it also stops you from having wrinkles. It has all the essential vitamins and also has the minerals required for a perfect and healthy looking skin.

How To Use Olive Oil For Treating Acne?
Using the olive oil for treating acne is not a complicated procedure. In fact, if you already have it in the kitchen that means you are halfway there already! Here are a few steps on how to use olive oil for treating your acne problems:

  1. Take a little olive oil, extra virgin olive oil, and then put it in a cup. Since you won’t be using a lot of it, put only one or two table spoon so you do not waste it. Olive oil can be expensive!
  2. Wash your hands before performing the next step! You need to have extremely clean hands.
  3. Dip your finger in the olive oil, and then slowly, in circular motion, rub it over the acne ridden areas. You have to be very gentle and careful. Do not be rough and do not just rub it in with your entire hand. Use a finger or two only.
  4. Take a clean towel and put it in hot water. Make sure it isn’t too hot, you do not want to burn your skin. Then, put the wet towel on to your face and for a few minutes do not remove it. It will open up the pores of the skin.
  5. Repeat the process but this time you do not just let the towel lie on your skin. You have to rub it gently against it so that the dirt and the excess oil is all removed from the skin and the pores.
  6. Now dry your face.
  7. Repeat the process of applying the olive oil and then wash it off again.

This is the perfect process. You will notice the change in a few days, what olive oil has truly done to your skin.

There are a few precautions you have to take this during this entire process. You have to make sure that the olive oil you are using is of good quality. This is precisely why I said extra virgin olive oil. If you are using an olive oil that is not of a good quality, it can do more harm than good to your skin. Do not use soap after using olive oil. You will only have made the entire process futile. Just wash it away with water if you want to.

Some might disagree with the natural method of things but one thing is for certain; Olive Oil is guaranteed to cure your acne. Don’t miss out on it.
